Every patient and every colleague should be treated fairly and with dignity — and the Equality Act 2010 makes much of that a legal duty. This module explains the nine protected characteristics, the types of discrimination, the practice's duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled patients, and what inclusive care looks like at the desk, on the phone and in the surgery: interpreters, accessible information, hearing loops, neurodiversity, dementia, religious and cultural needs, and gender identity.
Also covers unconscious bias, dignity at work, handling discriminatory behaviour from patients or staff, and the equality evidence CQC looks for.
Issued the moment you complete the final module. Every certificate lists the course aims and objectives, anticipated learning outcomes, the quality-assurance process and 2 CPD hrs — the elements required for verifiable CPD. Non-registrants can use it as CQC training evidence and for appraisals.
